The Business-Spirit Connection: Is It Real?

If you ask most people if they would like to be both happy and successful, they will tell you yes. But if you try to mention a connection to spirituality in a business sense, you may very well get a dirty look or a confused stare. For some reason, people do not want to associate spirituality with business. Most believe that they do not go together…and nothing could be farther from the truth.

When you suggest to someone that there is room for both spirituality and business in the same mindset, it’s usually met with skepticism or disbelief. Some people want to know if you’re trying to sell them something, other people think that you’re just out of your mind. Some may even believe that you are part of some strange cult. If you introduce the notion that there is actually a common ground when it comes to spirituality and business, most people, even businessmen who have years of experience, can’t understand the correlation.

There is a mindset that can be attained with spirituality that can go hand-in-hand with success in business. Many in the business world have never made the connection, but some successful people openly acknowledge that there is a connection, and many of them are some of the most successful and enlightened individuals that you will ever meet.

Consider the story of Joseph Bismark. When he was nine years old, he left his home to live the life of a monk in the in the isolated mountains of the Philippines. When he returned to civilization at the age of 17, he took the lessons and philosophies he learned and entered the corporate world. He did not leave behind his spiritual teachings, but incorporated them into his life. He credits his upbringing for his immense success, which includes a stint as the managing director for the QI Group of Companies, and a place as one of the founders of Qnet.

Bismark and other individuals have come to their success through trial and error and personal revelation of a divine connection. In most cases, they have been so transformed by their own awakening that they have focused on changing their entire business in the same way. And those individuals that actually achieve this business-spirit balance find that their success grows, and that they actually strive less than their non-awakened counterparts. In other words, the more they understand that there is a connection between spirituality and business, the less they actually struggle or work to maintain their business.

There is definitely a connection between spirituality and business, and the people that take advantage of this new found knowledge find that they end up with less failure, a more peaceful life, and a better business overall.
